What are AI comment replies?

Public replies to your comments, written by AI using what you’ve taught Alto about your business. Alto reads each comment with its post, answers the real questions in your brand’s voice and posts the reply under the comment, after your approval or on its own.

How does Alto avoid making things up?

It answers only from what you’ve taught it: your website, files, notes and Shopify catalog. If a fact is missing, the reply waits for your review. If nothing answers the question, Alto posts nothing and leaves the comment for you.

Can I check replies before they go live?

Yes. Replies can wait in your inbox as drafts until you approve or edit them. On Instagram, Facebook and YouTube you can later let the replies Alto is sure about post on their own. On TikTok, every reply waits for your OK.

Will the replies sound like me?

They follow your brand guidelines and the example replies you add, and the drafts you edit teach Alto more about how you write. A few real examples, including a tricky one, help more than a list of adjectives.

Does Alto reply in the commenter’s language?

Yes. By default, Alto replies in the language the comment is written in, using what you’ve taught it. If you’d rather always reply in one language, say so in your brand guidelines.

Does it work on ads?

Yes, on Instagram and Facebook. Pick your posts, your ads or both, and shoppers get answers right under the ads you pay for.

Will AI replies clash with my comment-to-DM campaigns?

No. When a comment matches a comment-to-DM campaign keyword, the campaign replies and sends the DM. AI replies answer the other comments on your posts.

What happens to spam and rude comments?

With comment moderation on, spam, scams and abuse are hidden before Alto writes anything, so they never get a reply. By default, a rude comment that stays up gets one short, calm line at most, never an argument.

Is it safe for my account?

Alto connects through each platform’s official sign-in, so you never share a password. A reply that would repeat someone’s email, phone number or order number in public waits for you instead of posting.

Is there a free plan?

Yes, but AI comment replies are part of Pro, along with moderation and AI agents. Alto’s Free plan covers comment-to-DM campaigns and the shared inbox for Instagram and Facebook, where you can answer comments yourself.
