Then askWhich Alto workspace are you connected to?

Read the MCP docs

Connect once, then just ask. Three steps, and no API key.

  1. Add the server to your AI agent with a link, a command or a setup prompt. There’s no API key to create or paste.

  2. Meet Alto opens in your browser. Pick the workspace and review what your agent can do before you approve.

  3. Your agent confirms which workspace it’s connected to, then works with your accounts, campaigns, sales agents and results.

What your AI agent can do in Alto. From one sentence to work you can review.

Turn an idea into a campaign

Name the post, the keyword and what to send. Your agent builds the comment-to-DM campaign and saves it as a draft for you to check and turn on.

You stay in control. Your assistant drafts. You decide what goes live.

  1. One workspace, your permissions

Each connection works in the workspace you chose when you signed in, within your role and your plan.

  2. Drafts first

New campaigns are saved as drafts. Turning one on is a separate step you ask for.

  3. Your app can ask first

Keep tool approvals on in your AI app to see each action before it runs.

  4. Disconnect any time

Remove access in Settings → Integrations → Manage MCP. Your social accounts stay connected.

Step-by-step setup for your AI agent. Each guide has the exact steps, then ideas to try.

Instagram and social media MCP FAQs

Have something else in mind?
Talk to the Alto team.

Is there an Instagram MCP server?

Yes. Alto’s MCP server lets AI agents like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor work with your Instagram account through Alto, along with Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp and YouTube. Add https://app.meetalto.ai/mcp to your agent and sign in with Alto.

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol is the standard way AI apps connect to other tools. Once Meet Alto is connected, your agent can work in your Alto workspace when you ask it to.

Which AI agents can I use?

Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent and Grok Bot each have setup steps above, and Meet Alto is in Claude’s connector directory. Other apps that support remote MCP with sign-in can use the server URL.

Can my AI agent send Instagram DMs?

Your agent sets things up and Alto does the messaging. It can build and turn on comment-to-DM campaigns and your AI sales agent, which then reply to people who engage. It can also draft a reply to a DM or comment for you to check and send yourself.

Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in to Alto in your browser and approve access, so there’s no key to copy or store.

What can it change, and how do I stop it?

Only what you approve when you sign in, in the workspace you choose and within your role. New campaigns start as drafts. Disconnect any time in Settings → Integrations → Manage MCP. Removing Meet Alto only in your AI app doesn’t revoke its access.

Is it included in my plan?

Yes. MCP access is included on every Alto plan, including Free. Your agent can use what your plan includes, so AI sales agents, follow-up sequences and the Social CRM need Pro.

Is my Instagram account safe?

Alto connects to Instagram through Meta’s official login and APIs, and your agent works through Alto, so it never sees your password. Campaigns it sets up follow the same rules as campaigns you build yourself.
