Then guide me to open /mcp in Claude Code, select Meet Alto, and sign in. Let me choose my workspace and approve access in my browser.

Stop if authorization fails or is declined. After connecting, verify by reading my workspace name using the Meet Alto MCP tools. Do not change any workspace data or settings.

  2. Share the word in your bio, a Story, a video or a printed card. Whoever sends it gets your reply, day or night.

  3. Alto can ask for an email or phone number and pass it to Klaviyo, Kit, Beehiiv or Flodesk. Questions after that go to your AI agent or to you.

What is DM automation?

It answers direct messages for you. Choose a word, like GUIDE, and what to send back. When someone messages that word on Instagram, Messenger, TikTok or WhatsApp, Alto replies with your link, photo or guide.

How do keyword DMs work?

Pick the account, add your keywords and write the reply. Alto ignores capitals and accents, and plurals still count. When someone messages one of your words, it sends the reply and any next steps you added, like asking for an email.

Will Alto reply to messages without a keyword?

Keyword replies only answer the words you choose. On Pro, your AI agent can answer other DMs in your voice, or only the chats your automations start. Anything it can’t help with waits in your inbox for you.

Which apps does DM automation work on?

Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok and WhatsApp. Each connected account gets its own keyword replies, and every conversation comes into one Alto inbox.

Can I collect emails in DMs?

Yes. Alto can ask for an email or phone number mid-chat, makes sure it’s valid and passes it to Klaviyo, Kit, Beehiiv or Flodesk. WhatsApp chats come with the number already attached.

Is DM automation the same as a chatbot?

Not quite. Keyword replies send exactly what you wrote, and they’re on the Free plan. For open questions, add an AI agent on Pro. It answers in your voice from what you’ve taught it and hands over when it isn’t sure.

Can I step in and reply myself?

Yes. Every conversation is in your Alto inbox with its history, so you can jump in at any point. When you reply, Alto’s AI pauses in that chat.

Is DM automation safe for my accounts?

Yes. Each account connects through the platform’s official sign-in, and Alto only replies to people who messaged you first. Anyone who sends STOP stops getting automated messages.

Do I need a business account?

Yes: an Instagram professional account, a Facebook Page, a TikTok Business Account or a WhatsApp Business number. You can keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Keyword DMs on Instagram and Facebook are included in Alto’s Free plan. Connecting TikTok or WhatsApp needs a paid plan, and AI agents and follow-up sequences are part of Pro.
