Can you sell products through Instagram DMs?

Yes. People already ask about products in your comments and DMs. Alto turns those questions into conversations that end with a link to buy: a keyword sends the product and your code, and your AI agent answers questions and recommends the right item.

How do I sell in my DMs without answering every message myself?

Let campaigns send the links and codes people ask for, and let your AI agent answer the rest from your Shopify store, in your voice. You can approve replies before they send, and anything tricky comes to your team with a summary.

Does it work with Shopify?

Yes. Connect your store and the AI knows your products and policies, including which sizes are sold out and where you ship. It shares the codes you choose, checks on orders and shows which chats led to a sale.

Can customers pay inside the DM?

No. Alto sends a button to the product on your store, and shoppers check out there as they normally would.

Can it share discount codes?

Yes, the ones you choose. Add a code to any message, and your AI agent only ever offers codes you’ve approved, so it never makes one up.

Can it answer “how much?” comments for me?

Yes. Ask people to comment a keyword and Alto replies, then sends the price and the link by DM. On Pro, AI can also spot comments asking about price and send them the same message.

How do I know which chats led to sales?

When someone buys through a link your AI agent sent, the order appears on their contact with what they spent. For every campaign and post, Alto shows the link clicks it brought in.

Which channels does it work on?

Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok and WhatsApp DMs, plus comments on your Instagram and Facebook posts and ads, and replies to your Instagram Stories. Shoppers can even send a photo or a voice note on Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp.

Will the AI make things up about my products?

It answers only from what you’ve given it: your store, your website and your notes. If it isn’t sure, it asks or hands the chat to your team, and anything it couldn’t answer is saved so you can teach it once.

Which plan do I need?

Sending product links and codes from comments, Story replies and keywords is free on Instagram and Facebook. The AI that answers questions, recommends products and tracks orders is part of Pro. Paid plans add TikTok and WhatsApp.
