For a new connection, run:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user meet-alto 'https://app.meetalto.ai/mcp'

Then guide me to open /mcp in Claude Code, select Meet Alto, and sign in. Let me choose my workspace and approve access in my browser.

Stop if authorization fails or is declined. After connecting, verify by reading my workspace name using the Meet Alto MCP tools. Do not change any workspace data or settings.

  1. Choose a Reel, a post or an ad, or let Alto watch your next one. Add the word people should comment, like RECIPE, and what you’ll send them.

  2. Alto answers the comment in public, so everyone scrolling sees it, and sends what you promised straight to their DMs.

  3. Alto can ask for an email before it sends the link and add new subscribers to Kit, Klaviyo, Beehiiv or Flodesk. Every click is tracked back to the post that started it.

What is comment-to-DM automation?

It sends a private message to people who comment on your post. You ask your audience to comment a keyword, and Alto replies under their comment and sends what you promised, like a freebie, a discount code or a link, straight to their DMs.

How does comment-to-DM work?

Pick a Reel, post or ad, choose your keyword and write the message. When someone comments that word, Alto replies in public and sends your DM. You can also let any comment on the post start the conversation.

Is comment-to-DM safe for my account?

Yes. You connect with Meta’s official sign-in, never your password, and Alto only messages people who commented first. Messages go out at a steady pace that stays within Meta’s limits.

How do I set up comment-to-DM?

Connect your Instagram account or Facebook Page, pick a post, add your keyword and write what Alto should send. Turn the campaign on and it answers the next comment. On paid plans, the Alto assistant can draft the whole campaign for you to review.

Does it work on Reels, posts and ads?

Yes. Choose one Reel or post, your next post or all of them. Ads work too when your Instagram account is connected through a Facebook Page, and on Instagram it also works on comments during a Live.

Does Alto reply to the comment publicly too?

Yes. Alto can reply under the comment so everyone sees the DM is on its way. Write a few versions and Alto rotates them, so your replies don’t all look the same.

Can I collect emails before sending the link?

Yes. Alto can ask for an email or phone number before it sends the link, then add the person to Kit, Klaviyo, Beehiiv, Flodesk or your own lists in Alto.

What happens after someone gets the DM?
